Positive speaking

Speak positive. As you begin to speak positively about your situation, you will notice that things will begin to change for the better.

See yourself overcoming your circumstances. Create a visual picture in your mind of yourself being successful. This makes your mind believe that it can achieve victory and decrease stress and anxiety.

Stress diary

Journaling has been shown to relieve stress and anxiety. Keeping a stress diary is a great way to help cope with a difficult situation. In a stress diary, you can record their feelings and identify the causes of stress during the course of a day.

Reading is another way to relax and relieve stress. Reading will allow you to escape the pressures of everyday life by taking you on a literary journey.

Deep breathing

During times of stress and anxiety, your breathing becomes rapid and shallow. This disrupts the flow of oxygen throughout the body. The result is an increased heart rate, lightheadedness, and muscle tension. This in turn increases your sense of anxiety. To decrease the symptoms of anxiety, you should learn to control your breathing. Instead of taking shallow breaths, you should take deep breaths. This will lower your heart rate and help your body feel more energized.

Talk it out

Find someone trustworthy to talk to about your feelings. You can choose a close friend, a family member, or even your own spouse. Just voicing your feelings can help you to deal with them.

Eat right

Don’t turn to comfort foods to relieve stress. Yes, chocolate and other comfort foods may taste great, but they are not good for your health. In order to combat stress and anxiety, you should eat a healthy diet. You should plan nutritious meals and have healthy snacks readily available. This will help to keep your body in tiptop shape and help you better cope with stress and anxiety.

Exercise is good for your body. It gets the heart pumping and oxygen circulating in the blood. It helps to improve both your physical and mental health. It increases the amount of serotonin and endorphins in your body. Both serotonin and endorphins help to control feelings of anxiety and depression.

The amount of sleep you get each night can also affect the way you cope with stress and anxiety. Your brain needs sleep in order for its neurons to regenerate. Your ability to recall information, retain new memories, and cope with the stress of every day life is impaired when these neuron are not allowed to repair themselves. So, it is advisable to aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night.

Effectively deal with the pressures of everyday. Instead of falling apart use the tips listed above and conquer stress and anxiety.
