It can be a real struggle to control your weight in a society where there is a great deal of pressure to stay slim yet, at the same time, lots of cheap, tasty food available. Moderation is something you really have to get used to if your aim is to control your weight, even when you are in an emotional state. Overindulging now and again probably won’t do you any harm, but it is all too easy for overeating to become a habit and once eating too much becomes a habit it obviously becomes harder to control your weight. You don’t want to find yourself putting on so much weight that you end up classed as obese and then develop health issues as a result. It is clearly preferable to manage your weight than to watch your weight going up and down, depending on whether you’re following a diet or not.
You therefore have to get used to keeping your portion sizes within reasonable limits, eating the right balance of foods and reducing the amount of junk food you consume. This is what you have to do in the long run if you want to control your weight, as doing so enables you to keep an eye on your calorie intake. Eating whatever you want will make it far too easy to exceed your calorie requirements, thus leading to weight gain, which is why you have to make counting calories a habit. Once you decide to embrace moderation it will become much easier for you to keep track of your calorie intake and thus control your weight.
