B12 Weight Loss Injections Lipotropic Energy

B12 has become the new craze in weight loss management. Men and women who get bariatric treatment are also getting B12 injections weekly and reporting inches lost. B12 is a vitamin that is needed for your body’s function, particularly to make red blood cells and keep the nervous system working properly. It also is beneficial to anemics in the absorption of iron, but weight loss?

Weight loss clinics around the US are touting the benefits of B12 injections as a weight loss miracle. However, some doctors are calling this “miracle” a placebo effect. B12 acts as a stimulant and energizes the body. After an injection patients “anti stress” elements are transmitted to the body making B12 an effective cure for chronic fatigue. It’s the body’s response to the B12 that actually helps with the weight loss, the need to “move”. B12 alone without the exercise will not help with the weight loss.

Recently, a new cocktail has been created called B12 with Lipotropics. This cocktail contains B12 with co-enzymes; Methionine, Inositol, and Choline; that are supposed to be required for proper metabolism of fats, and have the ability to remove fat from the liver. They help with transforming carbohydrates into energy and help minimize unwanted water gain. However, these statements have not yet been evaluated and confirmed by the FDA.

Although, the patients taking the cocktail are proclaiming results and at least an average weight loss of 5 pounds and ten inches, there is still some doubt. Can B12 kick start your diet? I find this highly unlikely. I do, however, believe it can provide motivation. To get the B12 shot or the cocktail a patient must go out of his or her way to go to a doctor’s office two days a week, be weighed in and get a shot in the gluteus maximus. Yes, the shot provides a slight burst of energy; but so do coffee and many other “fat burners” on the market. The one thing coffee and fat burners do not provide is a doctors fee twice a week and a look at the scale. Money and that number on the scale are big motivators. These injections are not cheap some doctors charge $100.00 a visit and it is not covered by most insurance policies.

There is no miracle cure for weight loss unless you go to a doctor and get either liposuction or a bariatric band. Weight loss and maintenance takes hard work and dedication. If you are trying to loose weight, there is no quick fix. Don’t waste your money on quick fixes and miracle drugs. Stick to a reasonable fitness plan and a sensible diet with a multivitamin (a little extra B12 couldn’t hurt).
