The Benefits of Antioxidants

What is Glutathione ?

Glutathione is a protein that is naturally made in the human body and acts as an antioxidant and antitoxin.

“Glutathione is a small protein composed of three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine. It is involved in detoxification of the liver and the body. Glutathione (reacts) to toxins, such as heavy metals, solvents, and pesticides, and transforms them into a form that can be excreted in urine or bile.

Glutathione is also an important antioxidant, counteracting the effects of free radicals produced in the body by oxidation reactions. In preliminary research, dietary glutathione intake from fruit and raw vegetables has been associated with protection against some forms of cancer. Glutathione has also inhibited cancer in test tube and animal studies. In preliminary research, higher glutathione levels have also been associated with good health in older adults” (http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070611212713AARz6sh).

Glutathione is stimulated through individual cells so the body increases its production. This releases more cell energy and affects the activity level of the user. It has been proven helpful in Parkinson’s Disease, irritable bowel syndrome, all neurodegenerative symptoms, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Glutathione herbal remedies and IV injections have known side effects. Adverse glutathione side effects are not associated with a glutathione precursor product such as (name brand) glutathione accelerator. The accelerator causes the body to increase its natural glutathione production which is known to decrease with aging. It is not to be used by children or pregnant women.

“Glutathione is also important to physically active people. Many world-class athletes are discovering that well-maintained glutathione levels give them the edge over their competitors, bringing greater strength and endurance, decreased recovery time from injury, less muscle pain and fatigue, and muscle-promoting activity” (http://ezinearticles.com/?What-Are-the-Known-Glutathione-Side-Effects?&id=1606481).

Since no harmful chemicals are introduced into the body, increasing the glutathione levels through natural means is legal and not considered drug use.

Glutathione has been proven to lighten skin and reduce sun spots. Its cosmetic properties are sought after by many famous people. It’s improved health benefits are important to all of us.

“Glutathione has a scientific basis in how it works as skin lightener and it is a logical fact. There are even studies made about its skin lightening properties”:

From research into Glutathione as a supplement it has it has not been possible to increase Glutathione production in a way that allows it to penetrate at cellular level until recently.

However, Dr. Robert Keller MD, MS, FACP, spent 3 years researching the correct components to allow Glutathione to do just that. This has culminated in the development of (brand name) a nutritional supplement that has the ability to increase Glutathione at cellular level and actually allows the body to regenerate it’s own Glutathione.

Why should you care?

The quality of life for senior citizens has increased dramatically in the last two decades. People are living longer and healthier lives because of better medical research and understanding. Many diseases can be averted if we change our habits and lifestyle. Smokers who quit live longer, statistically, than those who don’t. People who maintain a healthy weight are less likely to have strokes and heart attacks. Increased energy makes exercise more attractive. When we feel good, we think more clearly. The total quality of life is enhanced. We do more and find more happiness.
