What is Activella?
Activella is a combination pill containing oestradiol and norethindrone which are forms of naturally occurring hormones estrogen and progesterone respectively. Thus, the use of Activella would be in instances where the hormone estrogen and progesterone become depleted and this phenomenon would be mainly seen during the period of menopause in a female.
When administered, Activella can maintain enough blood levels of estradiol and norethisterone to alleviate the distressing symptoms such as hot flushes, vaginal dryness, vulval changes…etc and would also be useful following surgical removal of ovaries, in instances of hypogonadism and in most instances of ovarian failures due to different reasons. At the same time, Activella is also used to treat osteoporosis in which the rate of bone loss would be reduced to a certain extent by the hormone pill.
What are the side effects of Activella?
